Basic Blue and an Animal Print Shoe

Mostly because I like rhyming:

And pattern mixing.  Which I guess means this look isnt really basicblue:

But, honestly, in spite of the mixed print blouse (Banana Republic) paired with the polka dot blazer (Pendleton Country Sophisticates, thrifted) and the animal print shoes (80%20 via Piperlime) this feels like a very basic outfit to me.  I mean, it's just jeans (Banana Republic), blouse and blazer, but it doesn't feel boring.

Thank goodness for pattern-mixing.

Happy Thursday, All!

Pre-Spring is in the Air

Although the air is marginally warmer here in Oregon, I don't think I'll be going bare-legged any time soon.  But, that doesn't mean I can't start to think about what I am going to wear when bare legs are possible.

Happily, retailers are encouraging that sort of thinking by tempting us with their Spring offerings.  Or, in the case of online retailer, eShakti, their Pre-Spring offerings.  And they are lovely.

Here are some of my favorites from the eShakti Pre-Spring/Resort line.

For the Love of Buttons

Button Chambray Skirt

Metallic Button A-Line Dress

C'mon, Folks, They're Horses!

High Stepping Crepe Skirt

Horses!!!

Long Live Tangerine

Retro Style Poplin Dress

Sweet, But Not Saccharine

Heart-Embellished Crepe Dress

Hearts and buttons, ftw!

For When March is a Lion

Ruffled Military Style Chambray Jacket

Remember, eShakti carries up to size 36W now.  And you can always have a style altered for your longer (or shorter) arms, legs or what have you, for an additional $7.50.  And, right now, their Pre-Spring/Resort line is 30% off, but only until tomorrow.

Have any of you been looking at eShakti's Pre-Spring line?  What are your favorites?

Happy Wednesday, All!

Peach and a Polka Dot Lady-Tie

This sweater is peach:

It looks pink.  Oh well.

Not that that there would be anything wrong with pink, but I swear its peach.   And I did pair my peach sweater (thrifted via Goodwill) with a polka dot lady-tie (thrifted silk via St. Vincent de Paul).  I also wore a houndstooth skirt (thrifted via Goodwill) and added cream tights (Target) and pointed-toe booties (Luxury Rebel Yuma via Piperlime).

I have to say, I feel all soft and fuzzy in this outfit, what with the subdued hues and the fluffy hair:

Especially in comparison to yesterdays look.  Soft and fuzzy wasnt necessarily my intention with todays look (I don't think I had one outside of warmth and minimal drying time), but, I guess Ill take it.

Happy Tuesday, All!

Pinspiration: Bright Jacket, Black Base

Today I wore a bright red jacket layered over a black base:

I love this look, but I cant take any credit for it.  I copied it directly from a Pin of JsEveryday Fashion.

Me:

See?  Practically twins.

I knew I wanted to recreate this look as soon as I saw it.  Not because its particularly ground-breaking; black and red are very classic.  No, for me, this look had extra appeal in the form of the cap-toe shoes.  Theyre a classic in their own right, but I wouldnt have thought to pair the two.  The cap-toes make this feel fresh.  At least to my eye.  And made it something I wanted to try.

For my recreation of this look, I layered a red, vintage coat (Maurice via Goodwill), because somehow I dont have a red blazer, over black ankle pants (Vince Camuto via Nordstrom) and a black turtleneck sweater (Hinge via Nordstrom).  My cap-toe shoes are Bandolino wedges (via DSW) and I also added a vintage necklace (Sarah Coventry via Red Fox Vintage) and vintage earrings.

Also, because it's Monday and there is nothing shy about this look, I'm linked up to Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.

Happy Monday, Everyone!

Arbitrary Neon

Arbitrary Neon is going to be the name of the band I start after Neon Peach goes up in flames because the bass guitarist thinks she should be a solo artist.  It also describes my accessories today:

Although you cant see it very well, I am wearing a neon necklace.  This neon necklace:

Long Epoxy Link Necklace -image via Target.com

Why?  Because it made sense this morning and who am I to ignore morning inspiration.  (Also, Morning Inspiration is going to be the name of my 70s soft rock cover band).  In addition to the arbitrary neon necklace (Target), I also wore dark leopard skinnies (Old Navy Rock Star), a sheer, printed blouse (Liberty Love via Nordstrom Rack), an oversized blazer (gifted J. Crew; thanks Alex!) & boots (MIA Roam via Piperlime).

Full disclosure, I love this outfit.  I love the weird color combination (tobacco, blue & fuchsia?), the pattern mixing (of course) and the arbitrary neon necklace.  Its randomly cohesive, which is totally my thing.  As of right now.

Happy Thursday, All!

Shop the Look:
Neon Target necklace
Similar blouse
Old Navy RockStar Skinnies
MIA Roam boots
I couldn't find a similar blazer, but I'd suggest thrifting something; thrift stores are full of oversized blazers.
