I'm Not on the Wall

I'm just standing next to one.

Really, though, its basically stupidly cold here in Oregon right now, even though its nearly April.  This severely limits my wardrobe choices.  And, as you can imagine, having to bike commute limits them even further.  But, after much pondering of levels of coziness and comfort, I ended up in this:

I hate to fall back on wearing black (this isnt Westeros, after all, and Im not on the Wall) but most of my warm clothes are black.  So, a black sweater (Jones New York via Ross), scarf (Betsey Johnson via Nordstrom), jeans (a.n.a via JC Penney) and boots (Goodwill) it is.  But, I did lighten the look a little with a striped pink tee (Old Navy) and neon pink earrings (Kate Spade NY via Nordstrom), which I think was just enough to keep me from looking like Im a bearskin cloak away from being a Ranger.

Also, in case you cant tell, Im super excited about the return of Game of Thrones next weekend.  I read the first four books during the shows hiatus and cant wait to see how they handle what I know is coming up.

Im also super excited that its the weekend.  I didnt really love this week and am glad its over.

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Secretly Awesome

This sweater has a gold, snake print up the front, like it was slithered on by a giant, gold covered anaconda.  Its pretty cool, but you cant really see it in these photos:

Guess youre just going to have to take my word for it.  Because heaven forbid I actually take a photo that shows detail.

In addition to my secretly awesome sweater (a.n.a via JC Penney), I also wore my very favorite pleated skirt (thrifted via Goodwill), tights (Hue via Nordstrom Rack), boots (Vince Camuto via Nordstrom) and my new favorite scarf (Betsey Johnson via Nordstrom).

I just realized that I wear an awful lot of snake.  I wonder if that means the Sorting Hat will put me in Slytherin when Hogwarts finally calls.  I hope not!

Happy Friday, Everyone!  Like most, I have a three-day weekend, so Ill see you all on Tuesday!

Cozy Hearts and Stripes

It was very cold on my ride in today, so I bundled up in cozy hearts and stripes:

This heart scarf (Betsy Johnson via Nordstrom) really is super cozy:

And not to terribly twee (I dont do twee very well).

I wore the scarf with a striped tee (Old Navy) layered under an anorak (Liz Claiborne via Goodwill) and added black skinnies (a.n.a via JC Penney) and boots (thrifted via Goodwill).

It was simple and warm and perfect for a cold, foggy morning.

Happy Friday, Everyone!
