Camp Counselor

I borrowed the idea for this color combination from Delayed Missives:

But, the decision to dress like a camp counselor at an aggressively feminist all-girls summer camp is all me.  You're welcome.

To achieve this look, I paired a vintage Levis work skirt with a vintage neon pink camp shirt (thrifted).  I added sturdy navy platform sandals (MRKT via DSW) and a couple of bracelets.  I left my whistle at home though.  Oh, well, next time.

Even though I already own a neon pink blouse, I think I want to keep this one as well; if only because the other neon blouse doesnt have pockets or jaunty rolled sleeves.  And I think Im going to keep this skirt also; itll be great for wearing with sweaters for the fall and winter.

Happy Monday, Everyone!  Don't forget to enter my Shabby Apple Giveaway!

The Best Earrings Ever (Oh, and Some Clothes)

I am convinced (convinced!) that these are the best earrings ever:

At the very least, they are the coolest earrings I own and I love them.  I got them last Monday when I was looking for a rhinestone brooch for this Saturday.  They are vintage, and for some reason, they were only $3.00!  And, unless the reason they were only $3.00 is because they turn ears green, I will be wearing the heck out of them.  I may even wear them if they do turn my ears green.  Because Im hard-core like that (which, btw, when I hear hard-core, I always think parkour and it makes me laugh.  For no reason).

I also wore clothes today:

I layered a mens button-up (thrifted) under a long wool cardigan (Ports International, thrifted) and over black leggings (Ross).  For the accessories, I decided to stay with the Big Cat theme of the earrings and added a leopard belt and my animal print wedges (80%20 via Piperlime).  Blah, blah, blah; did you see the earrings?!

Happy Thursday, All!

I Rock a Lot of Polka Dots

I was watching that show New Girl the other night and Zooey Deschanels character said that a girl insulted her by saying You rock a lot of polka dots in a snotty voice.  It totally made me laugh because I rock a lot of polka dots.  Especially this week.  Tuesdays outfit was almost entirely polka dots.  And Im rockin some more today:

Im also rockin an owl belt, some boots and some color.  I belted my polka dot tunic (Eddie Bauer, thrifted) with my owl belt (Ross) and added a berry-colored cardigan (Ports International, thrifted), leggings (Vince Camuto via Nordstrom) and riding boots (Vince Camuto Fantastic via Nordstrom).

How about you, Reader Friends?  Do you rock a lot of polka dots?

Love and Tunics in the Juniors Section

I love tunics.  And I love this tunic:

And yes, I found it in the juniors section.  I usually try to avoid the juniors section when Im shopping, for a couple of reasons.  One, Im not a junior and havent been one for years (dont worry how many years, it doesnt matter).  And two, I dont have the body of a junior, and havent for many years (again, lets focus, people.  Focus.).  But, every once in awhile I like to troll the juniors dresses because they make them so short these days (the dresses, not the juniors) that they make perfect tunics for giants like me.

I layered todays tunic/dress (Weaver via Ross) over a long-sleeve tee (Gap) and leggings (Target).  I added the obligatory boots (Born Crown Sosie via Nordstrom) and belt (Gap) and was out the door easy-peasy.  Easy-peasy being, of course, the preferred amount of effort for a Friday.

And it is Friday, so everyone have a good one and an even better weekend!
