Sparkles and Leopard

So, it snowed here the other day.  I only mention this because it doesn�t snow that much in my part of Oregon so it was kind of a big deal.  I celebrated by wearing sparkles and leopard; you know, as one does:

Top: LOFT, similar   Pants: Old Navy, similar   Boots: Naughty Monkey, similar

Also, yes my boots are suede.  And no, they were not even remotely appropriate for walking in the snow.  But, in my defense I didn�t really believe it would snow, because it doesn�t usually, so I just wore whatever I wanted.

Indigo Girl

I�m not sure today�s photos are really doing this dress justice.  They�re skewing a little cobalt when, in truth, this dress is a lovely, deep indigo:

Not that there is anything wrong with cobalt.  I love cobalt.  But this dress is not cobalt, it�s indigo.  I think these photos show it a little bit better: 

Hmmph.  Maybe not.

But this photo definitely shows me doing The Duck Face Robot, which is a dance I made up this morning:

Ducks and robots aside, my dress is indigo, not cobalt.  And it�s vintage and warm (wool/acrylic blend) and has pockets, so it�s basically awesome.  In addition to my awesome dress of awesome indigo-ness, I also wore a turtleneck (Gap), tights (Hue via Macys) over which I wore OTK socks (Nordstrom), and suede boots (Naughty Monkey via Nordstrom).  I also added a studded belt (JC Penney) and neon pink studs (Kate Spade New York via Nordstrom). 

Also, if you don�t know who the Indigo Girls are, we may need to have a talk.  At the very least you should watch this video (to which you could dance The Duck Face Robot if you wanted):

Oh, Hey There, Boobs

I like this dress, in theory, but I�m not sure it works in reality:

(Similar mixed print dress, Spanx sheer polka dot tights, similar Naughty Monkey boots)

In theory, it�s made of comfortable matte jersey, has great color, a fun pattern and a flattering cut.  In reality, I�m afraid it�s a little �Oh, hey there, Boobs� for my tastes.  I don�t think it�s obscene, but I fear it might be questionable:

Which is too bad, because I otherwise like this outfit.  The dress (Suzy Chin for Maggy Boutique via Ideeli) really is comfortable.  And I love the polka dot tights (Spanx Sheers via Nordstrom) and slouchy boots (Naughty Monkey via Nordstrom) with it.  I just worry about that swath of red fabric across the chest, especially coupled with the lower neckline.

But, oh, well.  Done is done.  And no one has actually said �Oh, hey there, Boobs� to me, so I�m going to say it�s fine.  At least for now.

Eighties Town

As I mentioned in my WeeCap, I had a bit of an 80s moment while thrifting with Kelsey.   I think I was still in the throes of that moment when I put this outfit together this morning:

Does it feel a bit 80s to you?  Because it feels a bit 80s to me.  Maybe it�s because my skirt (vintage, thrifted) photographed neon red, or because I paired my bright-ass skirt with a bright-ass sweater (Old Navy).  Or maybe it�s the black; maybe it�s the turtleneck (Gap), tights (Spanx via Nordstrom) and boots (Naughty Monkey via Nordstrom) that push it into Eighties Town. 

Not that I�m saying Eighties Townis a bad place to be.  I probably wouldn�t live here, but I think it�s become obvious that I like to visit periodically.  Like today.  Today I am visiting Eighties Townand I�m enjoying the scenery.
